Currently, many schools are allowing some sort of "Return to Play" for athletes. Schools are being encouraged to work with their local health departments in order to have appropriate guidelines in place. Since the health and safety of students remains the top priority; the guidelines seem to stress that athlete training sessions at this time are completely voluntary and those who opt to participate are only allowed to complete strength, conditioning and cardio type workouts.
In addition, outdoor workouts are highly encouraged and only after students have met the health screening criteria. In Illinois the guidelines are as follows:
