Hopefully Helpful School Nurse Tip: Many times school nurses are invited to be a guest speaker for the elementary grades. Use this time to teach students more about visiting the nurse's office by reading them a book! Recommendations bee-low (see what I did there!?)
What book should the school nurse read?
More than once a school nurse has reached out asking for book recommendations to read to the elementary school level population. And more than once many school nurses have offered some great advice!
You can read a school nurse specific book or a health education book and incorporate a health lesson- complete with glitter, tooth necklaces, and/or germ detective kits!
You can read to the class once a school year or come back as a monthly guest speaker!
The possibilities are endless.
Make it fun, make it comfortable, make it your time to educate your students!
